A "musical" weekend

Hey people!!

Another weekend, holy cow this year feels like it's flying by!!

Linking up with Leeann and Sami for some Weekend Update.

Thursday
I'm gonna start with Thursday night because after class I went to my husband's school's basketball game to bring him dinner. I was only going to stay for a little bit, but holy cow!! It was a cross-town rivalry game for the league championship and it was a crazy game!! These kids are all so talented!! My husband's school ended up winning!! It was pretty cool to watch!!
The students rushed the court in celebration
It was crazy!!
Friday
I had my first portion of my grad school thesis project due and was really nervous in turning it in because I felt like it was crap!! oh well...
After work Leeann dragged me I met up with Leeann for a Kris Allen performance at a local "concert" venue. I have never been to a small concert...it was maybe at most 100-125 people at this place. Also in the next room, Gucci Mane (a rapper) was performing at the same time.
So Kris Allen wasn't too bad. He definitely can sing and he had a lil rock, a lil pop and a lil country fused into his songs. Like I've said before I'm not a big music person, but I did like his songs and he was a great live performer. He danced a lil funny and right now I'm wishing i had video-recorded it to show you guys haha.

Haha Leeann getting pushed back by one of the dancing, drunk 50 yr olds...but this one was not the obnoxious drunk-as-a-skunk one

Kris Allen and his opening act, whose name I can't remember

At the performance, we were surrounded by very drunk 50 year old...sorry "47" as they kept shouting...and man was that an experience. It was a little too much and they were the ONLY ones drunk, which made it funny/ uncomfortable. I want to be a fun 50 yr old, but not that obnoxious!! The night wasn't completely ruined thou and we had a good time. Thanks again Leeann for taking me!!

Saturday
The husband had "team cleaning"- getting the baseball field ready for the season so all boys had to clean, mow the lawn, paint, organize the shed etc. So I had a lazy morning catching up on blogs.
At noon, I went to my friend's bridal shower and it was fun seeing old friends, including seeing a high school friend's older sister...I felt like I knew her as she sat down and asked the "How do I know you?" question...she looked at me funny but played along and said she was from Chino, which I replied me too!! and once she said she went to my high school the bell went off in my head..."You're so-and-so's sister!!" Such a small world!!
A cute bridal tea...the favor was tea stirring spoons

The desert station...so cute

My yummy cupcake

The beautiful bride to be and me :)

The afternoon flew by with some more laziness watching tv. Once the husband came home and we both didn't feel like cooking, we had a date night at Olive Garden.

Sunday
Much needed lazy day again...After sleeping in late and relaxing the rest of the morning, we ran soem errands including checking out Prabal Gurung at Target...Not impressed. I liked some things online, but didn't like it enough in person. Oh well. I came home for a cat nap with the kitties.
They really do love each other :)

Please excuse the mess in the background...the husband snapped a picture of all three of us cat-napping

Once I woke up I got ready for some mommy and me time. My mom got invited to a Victoria Secret Valentine's Party at my local mall. It was fun, we had free chocolates and shopped. They had free manicures hosted but I have gel nails and the line was pretty long so my mom didn't get one.
"selfie" picture while waiting for my mom to find what she wanted

After the "party", watched The Grammy's and Revenge.

It was a busy weekend, but nice. I still have Monday and Tuesday off!! Monday for Lincoln's Bday (?) and Tuesday as a Furlough day. Yay for a 4-day weekend!!

I love catnapping with my furry little friends. Since I have been sick most of the weekend, both cats and the dog have snuggled up with me. Enjoy your four day weekend!!

I love that Gucci Mane was next door to Kris Allen. I bet that made for an interesting mix of people outside of the venue! I hate it when drunks ruin a concert experience. Pretty cupcakes! I felt the same way about Prabal. Up close, I wasn't really a fan of it.
